After 15 minutes, red lines will indicate the result. If only one line appears, the test is negative. If more than one line appears, the test is positive. A positive result indicates that the patient has been exposed to COVID-19 and developed
antibodies to fight it. More specifically, the line that appears indicates if the patient is currently infected with COVID-19 or had been in the past. The virus will interact with antibodies specific to SARS-CoV-2. IgM is the first antibody to be produced by the body to fight off infection, so it presence indicates current infection. IgG antibodies are a sign of past infections, usually about 10 – 15 days prior.
